Firewood Banksia
Firewood Banksia (Banksia menziesii)
The seeds of this tree are only released when the fruit head has been burned, the winged seeds then soar on the hot winds. The flowers of this tree have more colour variants than any other member of the genus; they can be pink, yellow, white, brown or green.
Taken from Levon's latest body of work titled The Hidden Beauty of Seeds and Fruits, these macro photographs display the Carpology collection of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh.
