Cyclommatus metallifer, commonly known as the metallic stag beetle, is a striking species of stag beetle found mainly in Southeast Asia. It is known for it's shiny, metallic colours, which can range from blue and green to purple and bronze. The image displays the intricate anatomy of this species, with the left wing casing removed to reveal the mechanics of the wing joint.
