Platyomus fasciatus, widely recognized by the common name glitter weevil, is a visually striking beetle species belonging to the true weevil family Curculionidae. Famous for its brilliant structural coloration, its exoskeleton is densely coated in microscopic, iridescent scales that reflect light in vivid metallic shades of green, blue, and gold.  Their dazzling sheen acts as a form of disrupted camouflage against dappled sunlight filtering through tropical leaves.
